East End Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center utilizes the latest digital x-ray technology for all our patients. Digital radiology is beneficial for both you and your pet and we are pleased to provide this service.
Benefits Of Digital Radiology
For your pet: Digital radiographs are more detailed and of higher quality than film x-rays. The greater image quality allows for a faster, more accurate diagnosis. Digital x-rays can be sent easily by email to specialists and consultants for interpretation. In addition, digital x-rays are easier to take than film x-rays. This leads to less time on the x-ray table and less stress for your pet.
For you: Because the images are digital, your pet’s x-rays can be copied to a disc and given to you to keep with your pet’s medical records. Digital x-rays are easier to store than film x-rays and are more easily accessible.
X-Ray Interpretations
EEVESC uses PetRays to interpret all radiographs taken at our hospital. PetRays is a state-of-the-art veterinary telemedicine consulting service staffed by a team of board-certified veterinary specialists.
After your pet’s x-rays are taken, the images are transmitted to the veterinary radiology specialists at PetRays. These specialists are certified by the American College of Veterinary Radiology and have years of specialized training in veterinary radiology. They interpret your pet’s radiographs and develop a thorough, accurate diagnosis. A report is then transmitted back to us so that we may treat your pet.
