Phil Litwack, VMD

Dr. Litwack came to veterinary medicine after a first career as a software developer. He graduated from Colgate University with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature in 1989, followed by two years at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Over the next few years, he built his career as a software developer in the financial services and insurance industries. After 10 years in software development and much self-reflection, he began preparing to apply to school for veterinary medicine.

Dr. Litwack was accepted to the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2010 and graduated in 2014. After graduation, he gained experience in critical care, internal medicine, surgery, and shelter medicine in a one-year internship at the Pet Health Center at North Shore Animal League in Port Washington, NY, and stayed on as a staff veterinarian for an additional three years. Dr. Litwack became a member of our team in 2018. His clinical interests include internal medicine, emergency and critical care, clinical pathology, and feline medicine. In his spare time, he enjoys playing guitar, and spending quality time with his cats Joey, Little, Isabel, Curtis, Trixie, and Polly.
