Sarah Alward, DVM was born and raised in Canada. She decided to trade her snow tires for sandy beaches and attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts for 3 years before returning stateside for her clinical rotations at Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2006. She completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the historic ASPCA’s Bergh Memorial Animal Hospital, and stayed on for an additional year as an associate. If you watch old episodes of Animal Planet’s “Animal Precinct”, you just might see Dr. Alward in action!
Dr. Alward moved to East Hampton in 2008 and worked for a short time in general practice, then spent time working with the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons until 2016. Upon the insistence of a previous client and a desire for a more personalized approach to veterinary care, Dr. Alward began a small part-time house call practice in 2009. Dr. Alward is currently the full-time veterinarian and owner of Hamptons Housecalls, a concierge style house call veterinary practice serving Southampton to Montauk. She is also a part-time emergency veterinarian at East End Veterinary Center in Riverhead, NY. Dr. Alward lives in East Hampton with her fiancée, their 3 year-old son Lucca, and dogs: Hooligan and Miss Betty.
