Dr. Larkin was born and raised in Yonkers, NY. He graduated from the University of Miami in 2011 where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. He then completed his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Ross University and completed his clinical year of study at Auburn University in 2015. Following graduation, Dr. Larkin temporarily worked as a shelter medicine veterinarian performing low-cost surgeries to animals in need.

After deciding to return to his home state, Dr. Larkin furthered his training by completing an intensive one-year general internship in surgery and medicine at BluePearl Veterinary Partners in NYC. In 2016, Dr. Larkin then headed east to Long Island Veterinary Specialists in Plainview, NY, where he completed an additional one-year surgical internship as well as a comprehensive three-year residency in surgery by 2020. In 2021, Dr. Larkin became board certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.

Dr. Larkin is interested in all aspects of veterinary surgery including orthopedic, oncologic, neurologic, and soft tissue procedures. He has a special interest in chronic wound management and the genitourinary system. Dr. Larkin has published a professional journal regarding the use of thermographic imaging in the diagnosis of syringomyelia in dogs affected with Chiari-like malformation.

Outside of work, Dr. Larkin is an avid fan of the Miami Hurricanes and New York Yankees. He enjoys relaxing at the beach and spending time with his fiancé, as well as their two Pit Bulls – Jayda and Judge. Dr. Larkin has much love for the bully breeds, standing by the saying, “the only things bigger than their heads are their hearts.”
