Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese medicinal technique used to stimulate the immune system and local nerves, relax muscles, adjust blood and lymph flow, and release endorphins. Many diseases and injuries can benefit from acupuncture including orthopedic diseases (osteoarthritis), neurological conditions (seizures, intervertebral disc problems), gastrointestinal diseases (inflammatory bowel disease, diarrhea, vomiting and constipation), and respiratory problems (asthma and bronchitis). Patients undergoing chemotherapy can also be treated with acupuncture to support the immune system and decrease adverse side effects.
